TERMINAL-MODE

@TERMINAL-MODE <capital letters?>, <delay after CR?>, <stop on full page?>, <log out on missing carrier?>

Set the communication mode of the terminal.

<CAPITAL LETTERS?>

If the user answers YES all small letters will be converted to capital letters on input. If the answer is NO, there will be no conversion. Other answers will give no change in mode.

<DELAY AFTER CR?>

If the answer is positive some dummy characters will be printed after each carriage return. This is necessary for some terminals (for example SILENT 700) if they run at 30 characters per second.

<STOP ON FULL PAGE?>

This feature is useful for fast displays. If 20 lines have been listed on the display without any intervening input, the output will stop so that the user may take a look at the output. The listing will continue as soon as any break character is typed. The control / shift P can be recommended as a continue character because it will be completely ignored.

<LOG OUT ON MISSING CARRIER?>

if the user answers YES and a "missing carrier" occurs on the connection between the terminal and the computer the background program logs out. If NO, the process on the terminal is stopped and the terminal is returned to command mode ('@' prompt).

Rules:

1. Permitted for all users.
2. When logging in, all parameters are set to NO.

Example:

@TERMINAL-MODE,,, YES,,

Only the parameter <STOP ON FULL PAGE?> is changed to YES.
