OpenLAN is Norsk Data's Local Area Network product family. It is designed to link ND's range of PC-based workstations, terminals, printers and host computers into one integrated network. It is based on the TCP/IP standard and uses standard protocols as FTP and TELNET among others. [1]

Hardware Requirements
- Ethernet II controller for ND-100 or ND-500 host computer.
- Ethernet III controller for ND-5000 computer.
- Ethernet or Cheapernet cabling.
