The NCR 5385 family consists of the following members:
- NCR 5385
- first family member, max transfer speed 2.5 Mbps (theoretical)
- NCR 5385E
- "stop gap" measure to NCR 5386 customers
- NCR 5386
- superset of NCR 5385 / 85E, production from March 1985
- NCR 5386S
- NCR 5386 + synchronous operation to 3 Mbytes / sec
