This page documents installation of SINTRAN III, release M on a SCSI hard drive in a ND-110 Satellite machine (9883.21005).
Requirements - what you need
- a machine which can run SINTRAN III, release M
- 3095 CPU, Level H (is the the same as ECO H?) mine is ECO J.
- install floppies
- 250305M05-XX-01D - floppy 1 - this is the floppy you start with
- 250305M05-XX-02D - floppy 2 - this contains the second part of the SINTRAN III installation
- 250305M05-XX-03D - floppy 3 - this contains NEW-SYSTEM:PROG and symbol lists.
Installation
Insert floppy 1 and close the floppy drive. Then type on the console
MACL 1560&
all commands must be typed in upper case. Note: you don't press the ENTER (carrige return) button after 1560&. This will start loading from floppy, and if it works you will soon see this on the console
MACM-1718-Q FEBRUARY 5, 1988 GIVE DISK TYPE AS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OCTAL NUMBERS: 0: DISC-14MB 1: DISC-21MB 2: DISC-23MB 3: DISC-28MB 4: DISC-30MB (DISC-60MB/DISC-90MB) 5: DISC-33MB 6: DISC-38MB 7: DISC-45MB 10: DISC-66MB 11: DISC-70MB 12: DISC-74MB (BUTTERFLY: DISC-36MB-C, DISC-49MB, DISC-77MB) 13: DISC-75MB 14: DISC-140MB (DISC-2-70MB) 15: DISC-2-75MB 16: DISC-288MB-R (DISC-225MB-R/DISC-3-75MB/DISC-4-70MB-R) 17: DISC-288MB-F (DISC-225MB-F/DISC-4-70MB-F) 20: DISC-450MB-F (DISC-2-225MB-F/DISC-6-70MB-F) 21: DISC-288MB-E (DISC-225MB-E/DISC-4-70MB-E) 22: DISC-450MB-N (DISC-2-225MB-N/DISC-6-70MB-N) 23: DISC-288MB-N (DISC-225MB-N/DISC-4-70MB-N) 24: SCSI DISC TYPE:
I have a SCSI disk drive, so I input 24. The program writes
INITIALIZED FOR: SCSI REMEMBER THE MACM COMMANDS: )REDEF => REDEFINE DISC TYPE )HENT => GET SINTRAN FROM SAVE-AREA 22! => START SINTRAN 10,0$ => LOAD SINTRAN FROM DISKETTE TYPE ANY MACM COMMAND:
and you start the installation by writing
10,0$
on the console (don't press ENTER after '$'). Then you just follow the instructions given until the installation is complete.
