Interesting that the manual refers to the LOAD operation as "hardware assembly". Perhaps "hardware loader" wasn't in common use at the time the manual was written. --[[User:Tingo|Torfinn]] 23:00, 5 May 2012 (UTC) | Interesting that the manual refers to the LOAD operation as "hardware assembly". There is something fishy about the picture of the NORD-1. The black and white cables should be the memory bus and go to a core memory and not hanging in the front like that. The large power supply is 18V power for the core memory with the smaller one supplying 5V. The 5V power supply for the CPU seems to be lacking.
The operators panel is sitting way too low, it is at knee height, not very practical at all. All other NORD-1 pictures shows the panel at face height.
To me it seems that the machine has been put together by the correct pieces just thrown into a rack by someone that didn't know where to put it.

LOAD operation
Interesting that the manual refers to the LOAD operation as "hardware assembly". Perhaps "hardware loader" wasn't in common use at the time the manual was written. --Torfinn 23:00, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Strange picture
There is something fishy about the picture of the NORD-1. The black and white cables should be the memory bus and go to a core memory and not hanging in the front like that. The large power supply is 18V power for the core memory with the smaller one supplying 5V. The 5V power supply for the CPU seems to be lacking. The operators panel is sitting way too low, it is at knee height, not very practical at all. All other NORD-1 pictures shows the panel at face height.
To me it seems that the machine has been put together by the correct pieces just thrown into a rack by someone that didn't know where to put it. --Gandalf (talk) 14:35, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
