ND-10.005 MULTIPORT MEMORY 5 BUS DESCRIPTION

ND-11.012 FLOPPY DISK SYSTEM

Reference manual and users guide for the Floppy Disk System. It describes the system, the interface and the formatter. It was written for the NORD-10 series of systems but backward compatibility means that it is also valid for the ND-100 series system. The manual contains detailed instructions on the programming interface and the hardware. A large part of the manual covers the operation of the SA800 floppy disk drive and its hardware. Half of the information is collected from these manuals from Shugart:

ND-11.014 STC MAGTAPE SYSTEM

ND-11.016 8 INCH WINCHESTER DISK CONTROLLER ST506 & FINCH

The eight inch Winchester Disk Controller consists of one 3038 card controlling one or two Winchester disk drives. The 5 1/4 inch, ST506, Winchester Disk Controller consists of the 3014 card. The manual gives an introduction of the disk drive, bad track handling and the controller. It also contains programming specifications, test procedure, block diagrams, logic diagrams, component layout, cable signals and a short description o the Fairchild circuit 9401.

ND-12.048 ND-100 SCSI Reference Guide

This manual describes the ND-100 8-bit SCSI controller, which exists in two versions: 3201 which is single-ended, and 3204 which is single-ended as well as differential.

The manual starts with an introduction to the main features of the SCSI protocol. Then it explains both hardware and software aspects of SCSI as used on Norsk Data SCSI controllers.

The NCR 5386 SCSI controller chip, IOX instructions, and monitor calls used for communicating with the SCSI board are described.
